I am an avid reader of women’s magazines. I enjoy everything from Cosmopolitan to Women’s Health. I especially enjoy reading celebrity profiles. At some point in the article the celebrity being interviewed talks about her diet and exercise regimen.
The celebrities answers all seem to be the same. “I eat 4 or 5 small meals a day that include all whole grains and fruit.” “I eat lots of salmon and drink water all day.” “I workout 7 times a week for an hour.” When I get to this point in the article I start to roll my eyes. I can’t help but think to myself how unrealistic this sounds. Everybody cheats. Even self-accailmed health nuts like myself.
So, I am dedicating this blog to confessing some of my most unhealthy habits in hopes that you won’t feel guilty the next time you grab a second or third brownie.
Anyone that knows me is aware of the fact that I am obsessed with running and have a passion for eating healthy. I try to live a very healthy lifestyle by running six days a week, getting lots of sleep and eating a vegetarian diet. But, even I CHEAT on a regular basis and here are just a few of the ways I choose to indulge:
1.I drink 1 or 2 sugary coffee drinks per week. I don’t care what people say about Starbuck’s frappuccino’s they are just to good to turn down.
2. I eat a bowl of ice cream at least once a week.
3. I eat processed Kraft Mac N Cheese.
4.I drink diet and regular Coke. (Gasp!)
5.I eat ice cream or a brownie at least once a month for dinner.
6. I eat more than 3 pieces of pizza.
This is just a short list of some of the unhealthy habits I currently have. The best part is that even after partaking in all of these “unhealthy habits” I still look and feel great.
It seems to me that our society has become health obsessed! Women especially feel guilty for indulging into their sweet tooth every once and awhile. Well, I am here to say that I AM NOT!
That felt good to get off my chest! And now you know that even health freaks like myself CHEAT!
